How to write the perfect SEO “Meta Description”

Add an inviting Meta Description: 145/156 characters

Meta descriptions are used to describe the page content within Google. Like title tags, meta descriptions has to be unique to each page and should be included in the “head” of every webpage. 

Be Descriptive – Be Persuasive – Inspire Curiosity – Use The Right Words – Call to Action

Use keywords intelligently

  • The meta description should employ the keywords intelligently, but also create a compelling description that a searcher will want to click. It’s the best way to gain user click-through from SERPs. These short paragraphs are an opportunity to advertise content to searchers and to let them know exactly whether the given page contains

The information they’re looking for.

  • Create unique descriptions for every webpage
  • The description should optimally be between 145/156 characters
  • If a meta description tag has not been included on a page, Google may pull through what it thinks is a relevant piece of text into the description. This results in a lack of control and sometimes can negatively impact clickthrough. 
  • Easy to understand, Unique & no duplicate

Direct relevance to the page and uniqueness between each page’s meta description is key. 

They should read like an ads to optimize your click-through rate (CTR), the higher Google will place you in its results

Don’t Forget, Google penalize if we have the same content (= duplicate)
